26th June 2009

We completed our second prototype today. Here's how it looks like:


Basically, we used super glue to glue the metal tube to the tip of the shoe laces. Thus, it would be far lighter than the previous prototype as metal tubes are not as heavy as magnets. However we will still be improving on our project in the later parts of the year.

17th June 2009

We finished our very first prototype on 17th June 2009. Here's how it looks like:


Although the prototype isn't the same as stated, we are trying to improve on it. As you can see, we haven't changed the tips of the shoelaces yet. Instead, we have placed magnets on the shoelaces to keep them attached to the sides of the shoes. Since this is only our first prototype, we will still be making more prototypes so as to improve on our invention.

22nd March 2009

We finished our power point presentation and our blueprint. This is a picture of how it looks like:
As you can see from the pictures, there are pieces of steel inserted into the shoes and magnets on the tip of the laces to be attached to the sides of the shoe so it will not come out. Additionally,there is a clip on the knot to keep it in place.

We started making the power point presentation and the blue print of our product.

2nd March 2009

We thought of adding a metal piece to the sides of the shoes and change the tip of the shoelaces into magnets to make our invention more efficient as the laces would be attracted to the sides of the shoe,preventing it from coming off.

1st March 2009

The idea of shoelace clippers were first thought of by Kah Win when we saw a student's shoelace coming out while eating at the poolside cafe. We did a survey on our classmates and found out that many of them were having the same problem.Thus we decided to work on it.
